Naturalness is one of the most popular themes in the beauty industry right now. And I like that - people are more conscious about what they put on their skin - but I often come across some myths. Not everything that looks or is called 'natural' actually works as well as one would like. That's why today I want to share my insights into which plant extracts are really effective and which ingredients can be mistaken for natural.

Plant extracts that really work on your skin<\/strong><\/h3>

Every ED\u00c9N Rituals face care product has been carefully thought out - I've chosen only natural ingredients that have been proven to be effective not only in theory but also in practice. Here are some of my favourites:<\/p>

  • Snow mushroom extract (Tremella fuciformis).<\/strong> This extract is a true champion of hydration. Often referred to as a natural alternative to hyaluronic acid, it is able to retain moisture in the skin even better than hyaluronic acid itself. We use it in our ED\u00c9N Moisturising Facial Serum because it perfectly restores the skin's elasticity and gently soothes sensitivity.<\/li>
  • Ceramides (plant origin).<\/strong> Plant-derived ceramides are not only effective, they are also very close to our own skin's lipids, reinforcing the skin's natural barrier and protecting it from drying out. This ingredient is particularly important for dry and sensitive skin prone to irritation.<\/li>
  • Lactic acid.<\/strong> Lactic acid is naturally found in sour milk products, but in modern formulas it is usually extracted by natural fermentation. It gently removes dead cells, refreshes the skin and helps it breathe. It was lactic acid that I chose in ED\u00c9N Lactic Acid Serum because it gently exfoliates the skin without irritating it.<\/li>
  • Plant ceramides.<\/strong> Ceramides, although often associated with synthetic products, can actually be of natural origin, coming from various vegetable oils (e.g. rice or sunflower seeds). They strengthen the skin's natural protective barrier, help retain moisture and prevent the skin from drying out.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

    Which ingredients can be mistaken for \"natural\"?<\/strong><\/h3>

    Today, the concept of \"natural\" has become very popular, and sometimes products are presented as natural when their composition does not reflect this. Here are some ingredients that look natural but may actually be deceptive:<\/p>

    • Mineral oil (Mineral oil).<\/strong> Although it sounds neutral, this oil is actually a synthetic, petroleum-based product. It is often presented as a moisturiser, but in reality it merely coats the skin with a film, preventing it from breathing.<\/li>
    • Fragrance (\"Fragrance\", \"Parfum\"). <\/strong>Sometimes products are presented as natural just for their pleasant aroma, but if you see these words in the list of ingredients without the qualifier \"natural flavourings\", they are most likely synthetic. Such fragrances often cause allergic reactions or irritation.<\/li>
    • Oils of mineral origin (\"Mineral Oil\", \"Paraffinum Liquidum\").<\/strong> Although they sound harmless, they are also synthetic products that do not allow the skin to breathe, creating a false sense of hydration.<\/li>
